Jennifer Fletcher, LMSW BIO

Jennifer Fletcher, LMSW, was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended the University of New Orleans where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. Ms. Fletcher continued her education at Southern University at New Orleans, earning a Master of Arts degree in Social Work with a concentration in Health/Mental Health. She serves as a guest speaker for various organizations addressing mental health issues. She is also a dedicated member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society, the National Association of Black Social Workers, and the National Association of Social Workers.

Ms. Fletcher is a Licensed Medical Social Worker and the Executive Director of the Sickle Cell Disease nonprofit organization, Zoey’s Sickle Power, Inc. Ms. Fletcher sits on the Board of Directors for A Dream Determined which assists young teens with entrepreneurship. She has worked in the mental health field for over ten years counseling and advocating for at risk youth and adults, exceptionally challenged individuals, and the underserved in the New Orleans metro and surrounding areas.

Ms. Fletcher is also the author of SICK•LE: AWAKENING THE TRUTH ABOUT SICKLE CELL DISEASE. In her latest book co-authored with Dr. Corey Hebert, she addresses the harsh inequities that black and brown people face within the healthcare system.
